  • Page 4 POWER CONNECTIONS A separate electrical circuit should be used for your machines. This circuit should not be less than #12 wire and should be protected with a 20 Amp time lag fuse. If an extension cord is used, use only 3-wire extension cords which have 3- prong grounding type plugs and matching receptacle which will accept the machine’s plug.
  • Page 5 Fig. D Fig. D OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS FOREWORD The Delta ShopMaster Model AP400 will connect to woodworking machines that accept a 4" diameter hose. The Model AP400 comes with two 30 micron collection bags, and a 4" x 5 ft. collection hose.
  • Page 6 UNPACKING AND CLEANING Carefully unpack the machine and all loose items from the shipping container(s). Remove the protective coating from all unpainted surfaces. This coating may be removed with a soft cloth moistened with kerosene (do not use acetone, gasoline or lacquer thinner for this purpose). After cleaning, cover the unpainted surfaces with a good quality household floor paste wax.

  • Page 8 ATTACHING MOTOR AND BLOWER ASSEMBLY TO FRAME 1. Place motor assembly and base assembly on their side. 2. Align the four holes, two shown at (C), on the top of the side supports (A) Fig. 8, with the four holes in the motor assembly (B).
  • Page 9 FILTER AND DUST COLLECTION BAGS TO DRUM 1. Thread a 5/16-18 hex nut (A) Fig. 13, onto the end of bag support rod (B). Thread rod into hole (E) and tighten nut (A) against motor assembly to hold support rod (B) upright.
  • Page 10 DUST INTAKE HOSE TO MOTOR AND BLOWER ASSEMBLY DISCONNECT MACHINE FROM POWER SOURCE before connecting or disconnecting an air intake hose to or from the blower and motor assembly. The dust collector is supplied with a 4" flexible dust intake hose. Place the intake cap holder (E) on the dust collector as shown in Fig.
  • Page 11 MAINTENANCE NOTE: Before any maintenance or service is performed, be sure the unit is disconnected from the power source to prevent accidental starting. All servicing other than the items recommended in this Instruction Manual should be performed by an authorized service facility. When storing your dust collector, remove power supply cord from the electrical outlet.
  • Page 12 Two Year Limited Warranty Delta will repair or replace, at its expense and at its option, any Delta machine, machine part, or machine accessory which in normal use has proven to be defective in workmanship or material, provided that the customer returns the product prepaid to a Delta factory service center or authorized service station with proof of purchase of the product within two years and provides Delta with reasonable opportunity to verify the alleged defect by inspection.
