General precautions
The Nosiboo Pro nasal aspirator was designed to remove the nasal mucus from the child's nose.
The vacuum and airflow needed for the aspiration is created by an aspirating device designed specifically for this purpose. The Colibri head, which is inserted into the nose, is connected to this device via a tube. The Colibri head has a patented design that prevents the mucus from entering the device.
Intended purpose:
Patients to be treated:
Illness, condition requiring treatment (indication):
Conditions in which the device cannot be used (contraindication):
Suggested user:

Assembling the Colibri head
Attaching the device
The device is ready for use.
Before use, the device should be placed in such a way that the plug of the power cord can be easily pulled out from the socket! You can turn the device on or off by pushing and control the intensity of the suction by turning the button on top of the housing. Adjustability guarantees that after selecting the appropriate suction power, the parent cannot cause any secondary deformation in the nose. Before turning on the device, find the right airflow rate fit for your child's age based on Figure 2 (Adjusting the suction power).
The minimum value of the scale is suitable for newborns, the middle value for babies and the maximum value for small children and for preschoolers. The effectiveness of the device is highly influenced by the thickness of the mucus, the extent of the disease and the unique anatomy of the child. If the mucus is thin, you can use the device at a lower setting, if it is thick, you can use the device at a higher setting than usually.
The device can be operated exclusively by adults. Do not give the device ready for use to the child!
Hold the child in a stable position while using the device. Sit your child onto your lap and hold them or sit them into a straight position supporting their back with a pillow. You may also sit them into a resting chair with a tilted back.
Do not lay your child on their back and do not block the free nasal opening!
Make sure that the vents at the back of the device are free!
Hot air may exit the device through the vents!
Unplug the device after it has completely shut off and the cooling phase is over!
Insert the previously disinfected and dried Colibri head into the child's nose, and then turn on the device by pushing the control button (the device operates at the setting used last time).
Figure 3 – Correct positioning of the Colibri head
Push the tip of the Colibri head into the nose. The tip should point slightly downwards and outwards towards the eyeball. In this position, you can gently move the Colibri head. With this method you can reach the opening leading to the maxillary sinus and you will not hurt the mucous membrane of the nasal concha or the capillaries of the nasal septum.
The connection of the flexible tube should point downwards while in use.
The patented design of the Colibri head can hold up to 5 ml thin liquid and prevents the mucus from entering the flexible tube.
Dry and very thick mucus can be dissolved by saline solutions. Do not use more than 5 ml of these at a time because if liquid gets into the tube it can damage the device!
After using the solution, wait a few minutes, remove the mucus running out with a tissue. Only after this should the nasal aspirator be used.
Nose-drops and other medicinal products suggested by physicians should be used after the aspiration!
The suggested length of the aspiration is 10 seconds/nasal opening.
If you have to interrupt the aspiration, switch off the device. After the motor completely shuts down, you can restart it. The device switches off after 14 minutes of continuous use but it can be restarted. In case of overuse or if not providing the sufficient ventilation, the thermal switch switches off the device and will prevent re-use for approx. 50 minutes for safety reasons.
The Nosiboo Pro nasal aspirator can be used several times a day. It is recommended to clear the airways before sleeping time and feeding to ensure the peaceful breathing of the child.
Do not cause pain to the child; introduce the device and the method in a tolerant way.
Always switch off the device after use with the control button.
The motor will operate for a while to cool down after you have switched off the device.
Do not unplug the device from the mains until it completely shuts down!
Do not cover the vents on the back of the device while in use!
Unplug the device after it has completely shut off and the cooling phase is over.

If you suspect malfunctioning of the Nosiboo Pro device, please read the information below. As the first step, the Troubleshooting guide provides suggestions for resolving concrete problems. In the chart, you can find the problems and the troubleshooting suggestions. If these suggestions do not solve the problem, the Malfunction management guide helps you/your merchant/distributor in localizing the malfunction as soon as possible.
Malfunction | Reason | Recommendation |
The device cannot be switched on | The plug is not connected. | Connect the power cord to the device then to the 220 V socket. |
The device switched off due to overuse for security reasons | For the sake of your child's health, stop using the nasal aspirator. The device can be used again in appr. 50 minutes.
The suction intensity decreased | The Colibri head got blocked or was incorrectly assembled. | Take it apart and clean it. After drying it, assemble it based on the user manual. |
The air mesh wore out. | Replace the air mesh based on the user manual's "Maintenance and storage" section.
Liquid or mucus got into the tube | The Colibri head was not held in the correct position. The connection point of the tube did not point downwards. | Switch off the device and clean and dry the Colibri head and the tube. Check the air mesh and replace it if necessary. |
Too much saline solution was used. | Reduce the volume of the saline solution to less than 5ml. Switch off the device and clean it, then dry the Colibri head and the tube. Check the air mesh and replace it if necessary. |

Only after the cooling process has stopped should the power cord be unplugged from the mains and from the device! Disconnect the tube from the device and the Colibri head. There is an air mesh behind the connecting unit which prevents solid objects and dust from entering the device. In the event of an unexpected drop in performance, it is recommended that you check the air mesh. If the air mesh is dirty or clogged, replace it with a spare air mesh. (A list of spare parts can be found in the "Accessories, spare parts" section.)

Clean the housing with a dry, soft cloth; do not use any detergents or chemicals!
Keep the device in a closed space where it is protected from dust and damage (e.g. in a cabinet).
If you have more children, we recommended to use a separate Colibri head for each child and to store the Colibri heads separated.
Do not store near a heat source!

The home wireless network equipment, mobile phones and wireless phones may affect the operation of medical equipment, as electromagnetic interference can occur between devices. Electromagnetic interference may cause harmful interference in the operation of medical devices and therefore emergency situations may occur.
Due to the above mentioned reasons, medical devices mustn't interfere with any other equipment.
To guarantee the electromagnetic compatibility, the necessary requirements were fixed in standards. The standards define the protection level of the medical device and the maximum value of the electromagnetic radiation emitted by these.
