• Introduction
Thank you for purchasing the Skutch CK-3 Message-On-Hold Module
for the Uniden TRU-6688 expandable telephone. The CK-3 was designed to
supply Promotion-On-Hold whenever the base or any of the up to 10
system cordless Uniden cordless phones are placed ON HOLD. The
Promotion-On-Hold automatically stops when the any phone on the system
picks up the HOLDING call. The CK-3 installs between the telephone wall
jack and the Uniden Base phone.
• How it Works
The CK-3 is a voice controlled module. When the phone is "OFF
HOOK" and there no audio detected, from either party, for a period of 4
seconds, the CK-3 plays Promotion-On-Hold audio to the far end party. At
the same time it disconnects the Uniden base set from the telephone line, and
carefully monitors for any audio or noises from the Uniden system. As soon
as the phone is taken OFF HOLD, and any noise is detected, the CK-3 will
stop the promotion audio and re-connect the call to the Uniden base set. Each
line is independent of each other.
• Installation (single telephone cord)
1- Remove the telephone cord from the Uniden base unit from the TEL
LINE 1\2 jack, and connect it to the CK-3 jack labeled WALL JACK 1&2.
2- Using the supplied telephone cord, connect one end to the CK-3 jack
labeled TO UNIDEN LINES 1&2, and connect the other end to the Uniden
base unit phone jack labeled TEL JACK 1\2.

3 Connect the audio cord from your audio source, to the AUDIO IN jack on
the CK-3. For DIGITAL units use the cable that comes with the player, not
ours. If you are using a CD player, make sure that you connect the audio cord
to the PHONES OUTPUT and you place the CD player in the REPEAT
mode. Use the volume control on the audio source to control the volume.
• Installation (Two Mod Cords)
If your phone is installed with two telephone cords, one for line 1 and
another for line 2, then you will have to use the enclosed adapter to convert
the two separate cords to a single double line cord. Once this is done you can
follow the Installation (Single Mod Cord) instructions.

• False Activations
If during a phone conversation, there is a silence gap for a period of
over 4 seconds, the CK-4 could false activate. In this case, simply speak or
blow into the phone, and the CK-4 will immediately reset. Any noise or
speaking will clear the conditions.
