NOTE
It is possible to set the unit of
measurement of the speedometer (km or
mi) and of the coolant temperature (°C or
°F), the red line threshold, the clock
f u n c t i o n s a n d i f n e c e s s a r y t h e
chronometer, see p. 40 (MULTIFUNCTION
COMPUTER).
The red line threshold is set at 6000 rpm
by aprilia. Increase the threshold
gradually as you get acquainted with
the vehicle.
During running-in, never exceed the
r e c o m m e n d e d r p m , s e e p . 8 0
(RUNNING-IN).
Lock at least one wheel, by pulling a
brake lever.
Pull the clutch lever (13) completely and
shift the gearbox lever (14) into neutral
[green warning light " " (15) on].
If the vehicle is started with cold engine,
rotate the cold start lever " " (16)
downwards.

To avoid excessive consumption of the
battery, do not keep the start push
button "
" pressed for more than
fifteen seconds.
If the engine does not start in this lapse
of time, wait ten seconds and press the
start push button " " again.
Press the start push button " " (17)
without accelerating and release it as
soon as the engine starts.
Avoid pressing the start push button
" " (17) when the engine is running,
since you may damage the starter
motor.
If the engine oil pressure warning light
"
" (4) remains on, or if it comes on
during the normal operation of the
engine, this means that the oil pressure
in the circuit is insufficient.

immediately and contact your local
aprilia Dealer.
Keep at least one brake lever pulled and
do not accelerate until you start.
Never leave abruptly with cold engine.
To reduce the emission of polluting
substances and the consumption of
fuel, warm the engine up by proceeding
at low speed for the first miles.
