The dry-cell battery of the controller is leaking
Dry-cell batteries in the controller may leak under extreme circumstances. Use 1.5V alkaline dry-cell batteries from reputable brands if possible and remove batteries from the controller if it is not being used for an extended period.
We strongly recommend you not use carbon dry-cell batteries in the controller. We recommend against using carbon dry-cell batteries, which are prone to leakage and may affect your normal use of the controller.
The controller makes a strange sound when it is gripped hard
No screws were used in the assembly of the controller. Squeezing it hard will cause the casing to rub against itself and produce a sound. This does not affect the functionality of the controller, and you can continue to use it normally.

The device does not recognize a portable hard drive
To improve PICO 4 safety, we have implemented a protection mechanism with the Type-C port, restricting its current output to within the USB2.0 specifications of 500mA. An external power source is required if the current required by the portable hard drive is greater than that available from the VR device. We recommend using a docking station adaptor to provide an external power source.
What accessories are included in the package
Glasses Spacer: if you have glasses collision with headset lens or pressure on the bridge of nose, you can install the Glasses Spacer.
Nose Pad: you feel light leaking from your nose, you can install the Nose Pad to block the light.
Two Controller Lanyards: you can wear the lanyards to prevent throwing away the controllers during gameplay.
Device temperature range
The working temperature range is 0℃ - 35℃. The optimum temperature is around 22℃.
Lenses
Lens material -> Pancake optical solution, PMMA materials, scratch-resistant coating
Field of View (FOV) ->FOV 105
Display material -> LCD
Screen size -> 2.5" x2; 4320x2160; PPI: 1200; PPD: 20.6
Refresh rates -> 72Hz/90Hz.
How to deal with image trailing when using the device in low temperatures
If image trailing occurs when using the device in a low temperature environment (below 10 degrees Celsius), try reducing the screen refresh rate (Settings > Lab > Turn off 90Hz). This should reduce image trailing. Avoid using in low-temperature environments for the best experience.
Green glare when screen is switched off
When the screen is switched off, external light can enter the human eye from multiple reflections on the front and back of the lens. This manifests itself as green glare, due to the high reflectivity of green light.
Optical ripples
Ripples in text-heavy environments when the user shakes their head can not be fully eliminated due to limitations in optics technology and lens coating materials. This does not hinder the VR device's overall gaming or video viewing experience.
Lens glare/ghosting problem
Ghosting is a constant challenge for manufacturers of optical devices (mobile phones, cameras, etc.). Ghosting on a screen or lens occurs due to multiple reflections when too much light enters a display device and is a normal phenomenon in all optical devices.
Despite the use of pancake lens technology in PICO 4, which is thinner and offers better viewing results, reflections (ghosting) can't be completely eliminated. We continue to work to mitigate ghosting with improvements in material and technology.
Does the unit support myopia adjustment
No, but PICO 4 is designed to accommodate most prescription glasses. Make sure to wear the VR headset in a manner in which the VR headset lenses do not rub or impair your prescription lenses.
Does the unit support interpupillary distance (IPD) adjustment and what is the fit range?
PICO 4 supports interpupillary distance (IPD) adjustment (62mm-72nm). You can adjust the IPD in "Settings">"Display". Please note that using inappropriate IPD may increase the risk of discomfort. Do not forcibly move the lens barrel to avoid damage to the VR headset!
Display settings
- Brightness adjustment:
- Method 1: Quick Settings on the right side of the dock > adjust brightness.
- Method 2: Settings > Display > Brightness Adjustment
- Eye protection mode:
- Lower the blue light from the screen to reduce eye strain. Pathway: Settings > Display > Eye Protection Mode
How to deal with mild dizziness and discomfort using the product
Prolonged use may cause dizziness or eye fatigue. It is recommended to take a break every 30 minutes. Try relieving your eyestrain by looking distant objects. If you feel any discomfort, stop using the product immediately. If discomfort persists, seek medical advice.
Product Battery
Battery capacity and endurance
The battery capacity is 5300mAh, with a battery life of more than 2 hours for normal use. The use of demanding applications with high refresh rates and high brightness (demanding games, videos or screen recording) can reduce the battery life to around 1.5 hours. To improve battery life, we recommend:
- Increasing the size of the safety zone (Quick Settings - Play Boundary).
- Reducing the speed at which the colour step is activated (Settings - General - Play Boundary - Speed sense).
- Reduce distance sensitivity (Settings - General - Play Boundary - Distance Sensitivity).
- Use the battery saving mode (Settings - LAB - Power Management - Battery Saver).
- Reduce brightness (Settings - Display).
Controllers use 1.5V AA batteries, which can meet the use time of about 80 hours.
Battery charging
We recommend charging the PICO 4 when not in use, which will take around 1 hour using QC3.0/PD3.0 fast charging.
If charging while in use, please note that the charging speed will be reduced to ensure safety, which may cause charging to be slow or stop completely.
The unit switches off very quickly after displaying low battery alert
In high power usage scenarios such as 3D video playback and gaming, battery voltage may drop to shutdown levels when battery levels are low. This prevents the battery from completely discharging and triggers shutdown protection.
