Vertical Stroke with Hook ( ) is

Various types of Turning Strokes are
classified as Turning Stroke ( )
Note the following especially:
1) A stroke is a continuous line-seg-
ment in writing Chinese characters,
which must be finished at one go.
You should never break up one
stroke into two. For example, the
second stroke for [] is [ ], which
should be written without pause.
You can not separate it into
