Standby mode
The following
three indicators
are shown when
the phone is in the
standby mode,
that is, when the phone is ready for use
and no characters have been entered by
the user. This screen is also called the
standby display.
XXXXXXX
Indicates in which
cellular network the
phone is currently being
used.
and bar
Shows the signal
strength of the cellular
network at your current
location. The higher the
bar, the stronger the
signal.
and bar
Shows the battery charge
level. The higher the bar,
the more power in the
battery.

About the phone book (Names)

You can store names and phone
numbers in the phone's internal phone
book or to the memory of the SIM card.
You can only use one memory at a time.
For storing names and phone numbers,
see "Phone book functions" on page 48.
• The phone's internal phone book can
store 1000 names with 3 numbers
List of essential indicators in the
standby mode
In addition to the above three
indicators, one or more of the following
icons may be shown when the phone is
in the standby mode:
Indicates that you have
one or more new text
messages.
Indicates that the
phone's ringing tone is
set off and the phone
doesn't ring at an
incoming call.
Indicates that the
phone's key pad is
locked.
Indicates that you
have set on the alarm
clock.
Indicates that you have
activated one or more
call diverts.
and one textual note per name.
However, if you have less than 1000
names stored in the phone's internal
phone book, you may be able to
store up to 5 numbers and two
textual notes per name.
