1. Feed Teeth Lever — Move from side to side to
engage or disengage the feed teeth. Positioned at
the back of the free arm, see page 20.
2. Accessory Tray / Free Arm — Provides a flat
surface when sewing and allows storage for your
accessories.
Remove the accessory tray to use the free arm
which makes it easier to sew, e.g., trouser hems
and sleeves.
3. Needle Plate — Provides a flat area around
presser foot for sewing. Guidelines indicate var-
ious seam allowances used to guide fabric while
sewing.
4. Bobbin Cover — Protects the bobbin while sew-
ing. Push the lever next to the cover to open.
5. Thread Cutter— For trimming thread ends at the
end of sewing.
6. Threading Slots — Thread paths with tension
discs and take up lever.
7. Reverse Button — Press and hold to sew in
reverse or to make a tie-off, e.g., when securing
the beginning or ending of a seam. Only available
straight stitch and zigzag stitch, see page 5.

8. Start/Stop Button — Press to start and stop sew-
ing without using the foot control.
9. Thread Tension Dial — Adjustable for setting
the desired tension for your stitch, thread and
fabric.
10. Machine Operation Controls — Functions used
to make your sewing more convenient, see page
5 for more details.
11. Hand Wheel — Used to manually control the
movement of the needle and the thread take-up
lever.
12. Touch Screen — View and control all functions
that is available on your machine.
13. Presser Foot Lifter — Used to raise and lower
the presser foot.
