    DT70KV Safety information z The User manual and its Safety information must be read and understood before using the equipment z Safety procedures and rules for working near high voltage energized systems must be observed during the use of this equipment. The generated voltages may be dangerous z Never connect or disconnect the test leads while the dielectric tester is running or when the high voltage light is on.

    DT70KV 1. Description The dielectric tester DT70KV is an instrument specially developed to insulating gloves testing, in accordance with standards ASTM D120, ASTM F496 and IEC 60903 (annex E). It was designed with emphasis on safety, versatility and ease of use. The voltage output is adjustable (according to the glove class), with up to 70 kVDC.

Correctly connect the cable to prevent malfunction of the dielectric tester. High Voltage LED: It indicates to the operator the presence of high voltage at the HIGH VOLTAGE output.

    5. Emergency stop and generation lock buttons To increase operator safety, the DT70KV has an emergency button on the control unit and a generation lock button on the high-voltage unit. The emergency button is intended to stop the power generation of the dielectric tester and should be used only in case of extreme urgency, such as the entry of person(s) in the test area or the anticipated / accidental activation of the equipment.

    8. Operating the equipment Turn the control unit on with the on / off switch  The display of the device will show the message MEGABRAS DT70KV dielectric tester. It will then perform three self-tests and then display the initial screen, informing the currently selected test class, the current date and time.

    INVALID TEST The DT70KV limits the output current to approximately 500 µA respecting its power specifications. If the glove or sleeve under test presents resistance that produces leakage current above 500 µA, the equipment will limit the test voltage to avoid increasing the output current.
