Please read and understand these instructions completely before installation to avoid injury to yourself or
damage to the vehicle or accessory
INSTALLATION:
1. Unspool and detach metal cable from the winch drum. (If applicable when installing 85075 short plow lift rope: Save the
longer synthetic rope for later use when plowing season is over).
2. Route synthetic rope through the fairlead and attach to the winch drum using your winch's normal metal cable attachment
OPTIONAL - If no attachment method is available, tie the rope to the winch drum using a loop knot.)
method. (
3. Spool synthetic rope, keeping rope tensioned uniformly, onto the winch drum using back-and-forth layering. This will help
prevent nesting under load.
TIPS FOR BEST PERFORMANCE:
It is important all rope layers be tightly spooled onto the winch drum with sufficient tension.
•
Rope may slacken on the drum during initial use, therefore, it is essential to repeat the spooling process at regular
•
intervals to prevent nesting.
Replace roller fairleads that have been used with metal cable, as they can cause fraying and/or premature synthetic
•
rope failure.
Plow lift rope should only be used for plow lift applications only. Replace lift rope for vehicle recovery applications.
•
When replacing a metal winch cable with synthetic rope, a new roller fairlead or
aluminum hawse is required to be installed to prevent rope fraying or damage.
