Expanding 1TB Base Systems For capacity upgrades, Array and Expansion modules can be purchased with 2TB drives.

    Verifying System Requirements Before proceeding with the upgrade, check the DXi Software version installed on the DXi8500 to make sure that it meets the requirements for the upgrade. The software version displays on the Home page in the remote management console.

    This would result in data loss. Caution: Before performing the capacity expansion, make sure that there are no USB flash drives inserted into any USB ports on the DXi8500. If a USB drive is detected by the system, the capacity upgrade will abort.

    Verifying the Health of Before beginning the Array/Expansion module upgrade procedure: the DXi8500 1 Verify the health of the DXi8500 by obtaining a Storage Array Diagnostics File from the remote management console, Utilities > Diagnostics > Storage Array Diag File.

    A fully-configured (2TB) expansion rack (with 1 Array module 6 Expansion modules) weighs approximately 972 pounds (441 Kg). WARNING: At least two people are required to move and install the DXi8500 pre-racked system. Unpacking the Pre-Racked Expansion Rack Follow these steps to unpack the pre-racked expansion rack: 1 Check the packing list and verify that all components have been received.
