Introducing the Alteon SSL Accelerator The Alteon SSL Accelerator (ASA) is a peripheral Secure Socket Layer (SSL) offload plat- form that attaches to an Alteon Web switch or a comparable switch from another vendor. The ASA performs a TCP three-way handshake with the client through the Web switch and per- forms all the SSL encryption and decryption for the session.
