Preparing for installation The H3C S9827 series contains models listed in the following table: Product model Product code S9827-128DH LS-9827-128DH Safety recommendations To avoid any equipment damage or bodily injury caused by incorrect use, read the following safety recommendations before installation. Note that the recommendations do not cover every possible hazardous condition.
  • Page 3: Cleanliness

    • High temperature can accelerate the aging of insulation materials and significantly lower the reliability and lifespan of the switch. For information about the temperature and humidity requirements, see H3C S9827 Switch Series Hardware Information and Specifications. Cleanliness Dust buildup on the chassis might cause electrostatic adsorption and dust corrosion, resulting in poor contact of metal connectors and contact points.

Figure2-10 Installing bottom support rails Mounting the switch in the rack This task requires two people. To mount the switch in the rack: Adjust the orientation of the chassis so that the back of the chassis faces the front of the rack. Lift the chassis from both sides until the bottom of the chassis is slightly higher than the load-bearing surface of the slide rails.
  • Page 13: Grounding The Switch

Place the switch onto the slide rail and push it slowly into the rack until the mounting brackets are flush against the rack posts. WARNING! After placing the chassis on the rails, do not immediately let go. This prevents the chassis from tipping over and damaging the switch, or even causing bodily injury.
