Assemble the sound cover in a clean, flat workplace away from the
AirStar compressor.
1. Assemble the frame of the sound cover by attaching frame components shown in detail "A".
attach top and side panels with supplied screws as shown in the overall assembly diagram.
Installation requires two people to lift the sound cover over the top of the compressor.
a. The fully assembled sound cover installs over the top of the compressor with no other attach-
ments.
b. To install sound cover; lift the sound cover over the top of the compressor, then lower it so
that the bottom of the legs rest on the floor.
c. Make sure the sound cover surrounds the entire compressor except for the Membrane Dryer.
When correctly positioned; the Membrane Dryer (located on the right hand side) will remain
exposed and rest directly adjacent to the right side panel of the sound cover.
The maximum current draw of the sound cover is 0.45 Amp. It is
recommended that the connecting wall outlet be equipped with a
minimum 15 amp circuit protection device.
2. The AS70 sound cover requires a connection to 220-volt, 50/60 Hertz electrical power sepa-
rate from that of the AS70 compressor. Connect the AirStar 70 sound cover to a 220 VAC wall
outlet with the included 10 foot long line cord. The line cord connects to the sound cover at the
elevated sheet metal enclosure mounted to the right side panel assembly (p/n: 89622, item #6).
Adjacent to the line cord connection are two 0.5-Amp circuit breakers for reference.
