BJ Cartridge and BJ Tank Maintenance

The most important thing you can do to extend the life of your printer and to
ensure optimum print quality is take care of the BJ cartridges.
Spilled ink can stain any surface. Open BJ cartridges and BJ tanks carefully,
and follow the guidelines presented here to protect against spilled ink.
o Protect all surrounding surfaces (such as floors, furniture, and clothing)
before opening any BJ cartridge or BJ tank.
o If you are using both the BC-61 Color BJ Cartridge and the BC-62 Photo
BJ Cartridge, make sure you store the cartridge not being used in the Ink
Cartridge Storage Box.
o Keep BJ cartridges and BJ tanks in their sealed containers until you are
ready to use them.
o Do not remove the BJ tank from the BC-61 Color BJ Cartridge or the BC-
62 Photo BJ Cartridge unnecessarily. This may cause the ink to clog.
o If spilled, the ink is difficult to remove. Therefore, it's a good idea to keep
the BJ cartridges and BJ tanks out of the reach of children.
o Do not touch the print head area on the BJ cartridges. Ink may leak out
and cause stains.
o Use the SB-60 Ink Cartridge Storage Box for the BC-61 Color or BC-62
Photo BJ Cartridge only. Do not attempt to store a BC-60 Black BJ
Cartridge in this storage box.
