Software Update using a Writable CD
1. Download the software file (it's named "RTB1023_V030_030.ISO"). Insert a new, writable CD
(eg, CD-R) into your PC's disc drive. Copy and write (sometimes called "burning") the file to the
CD.
Note: please ensure you copy it to the "root" of the CD (don't copy it to a folder on the CD).
Note: In order to play a writable CD on your RTB1023, the CD must be "mastered" or
"finalized". Windows VISTA does not automatically do this; you'll need to change a setting when
you're burning the disc. To do this:
(1) Insert new, empty, burnable CD (e.g., CD-R) into your computer's disc drive, a Pop-
Up Window should appear
(2) Select "Burn files to disc" option
(3) A "Prepare this disc" Pop-Up Window should appear
(4) Select "Show formatting options" icon to show expanded options
(5) Select the "Mastered" option.
2. Turn on your RTB1023 and select the "BD-USB" source. Turn on your TV. Press "OPEN/CLOSE"
on the front panel of RTB1023 and insert the mastered CD into your RTB1023's disc tray, press
"OPEN/CLOSE" again.
3. After a few seconds you should see a message on your TV screen asking if you'd like to proceed
with the Software Update.
4. Select "OK" using your remote control.
5. You'll then see an "Update Progress" screen. Please be patient during this process, and ensure
that you DO NOT turn off the product during this process.
6. Once the update is complete, the disc tray will open and you'll see a message asking you to
remove the CD and press "OK" – please do so.
7. Your RTB1023 should then restart itself. Congratulations! You've now completed the update
process!
