5.4 DESCRIPTION OF OVEN FUNCTIONS

Lower heater turned on
Heat is delivered by the lower heater, which is located beneath the floor. This function allows for extra
heating of the cake bottom (e.g. while baking moist fruit cakes). We recommend using this function during
the last 10 – 15 minutes of the dish stay in the oven.
Lower heater and upper heater turned on
Both heaters deliver heat to the oven interior. Dishes should be placed on a single, preferably middle level
of the oven. This kind of heating is ideal for cooking cakes, meat, fish, bread and pizza.
Upper heater turned on
Heat is delivered by the upper heater. This heating method can be used for extra heating of the dish top,
for toast etc.
Traditional heating (grilling)
Small portions of meat should be used for traditional grilling (stakes, scalded sausages, grilled
sausages), shashliks, fish, and toast.
The grilled dish should be no more than 2 – 3 cm thick. The dishes can be placed on a baking tin and
on a grill.
Before grilling meat and fish should be basted with a small amount of fat.
Operating the oven:
preheat the oven by setting the maximum temperature,
set the function knob to position
set the required temperature and possibly grilling time,
after half of the grilling time turn the grilled portions over.
CAUTION!
1. While grilling the appliance must not be left without supervision.
2. While roasting meat on a grill insert the drip tray on the bottom runner to collect fat and meat
juice from the meat grilled on the upper level; put approximately 0,5 l of water to the tray.
3. While grilling the cooker is very hot. Close attention should be paid to children, keep children
well away.
Grilling with roasting-spit
Roasting-spit is used to rotary grilling such dishes as poultry, sausages, shashliks etc.
Operating the oven:
remove all unnecessary outfit from the oven,
slide in the roasting-spit frame on the appropriate level,
slide one fork onto the spit and stick meat onto it while paying attention it is symmetrical along the
stick; then slide in the second fork and secure it in its position be tightening the set screw,
insert the pointed end of spit into the roast-spit drive connection, push it home and rest the other
end of spit on the frame,
screw out the handle and close the door,
turn on the oven, adjust the temperature and, possibly, set the time of grilling,
