The IC-730 covers all the Amateur r H F frequencies from 3.5M Hz to 29.9999M Hz, including the new three bands of 10MHz, 18MHz and 24MHz. It offers not only SSB, but also AM and CW. All of the circuits in the IC-730, including the driver and final power stages are completely solid state, and provide about 100 watts output.

The connection of the DC power cord supplied with the IC-730 is done in the following way: First make sure that the power switch of the unit is in the OFF position and the T/R switch is in the receive position. Connect the cord to the DC power supply with the RED lead to the positive terminal and the BLACK lead to the negative terminal.

Transmitting AM signals is essentially the same as SSB transmission. The final transistors used in the IC-730 are of good design and are protected to a reasonable extent by circuits Set knobs and switches the same as for SSB operation. The RF output power can be adjustable between 10 Watts and incorporated in the set.

However, the frequency can be aligned simply by receiving the WWV signal. At present there are two active satellites for amateur radio use, though more are being planned.
