1.1 Intended Audience This user’s manual was written for technically qualified personnel who will be working with I/O devices using the VPX4840 or VPX4850 carrier cards. It is not written for a general, non-technical audience unfamiliar with embedded I/O devices and their applications.
VITA 46.9-defined Rear I/O mappings to support a wide range of applications. The VPX4840 products provide Rear I/O support for both the XMC Jn6 connector and the legacy PMC Jn4 connector by implementing the P64s+X8d+X12d Rear I/O Signal Mapping defined in VITA 46.9. This provides for 64 single-ended I/O signals from Jn4 and 20 differential I/O signals from Jn6.
