GENERAL TROUBLESHOOTING Engine Compression (See Figs. 1-3) Low compression will cause erratic idling, low power, and hard starting when hot. To test the engine compression: ■ Remove the spark plug cover using the provided hex wrench (Fig. 1). ■ Remove the spark plug cap. Fully cover the spark plug using the provided socket wrench. Rotate the wrench counter-clockwise to remove the spark plug (Fig.
