Installation Instructions
CASEANT[X]4-6-60[-X] Series
SW3-1164- v1
1. Introduction
The CASEANT[X]4-6-60[-X] series is a line of adhesive mount 4x4 MiMo 4G LTE / 5G NR antennas designed specifically for installation in hard cases for deployable
networks and similar applications. Versions of the antenna are available with support for L1 or L1/L5 GPS/GNSS function and 2, 3 or 4 elements for WiFi 6e / WiFi 7.
The antenna is fitted with low loss CS30 coaxial cables for flexibility and ease of installation and can be permanently mounted via the supplied adhesive pad.
Version of this product contain an active GPS/GNSS antenna.
CASEANTG4 part numbers contain an L1 only GPS/GNSS antenna: Rated voltage: 3-5VDC Rated current: 20mA maximum
CASEANTG54 part numbers contain an L1/L5 GPS/GNSS antenna: Rated voltage: 3-5VDC Rated current: 37mA maximum
The supply to these devices must be provided with overcurrent protection of 1A maximum.
2. Mounting requirements and selecting location
The CASEANT[X]4-6-60[-X] is designed to be fitted in the lid of a hard case. Please note that the antenna may not fit in all hard cases. It is the responsibility of the
customer to ensure that the antenna is suitable for installation within their chosen case. The antenna will normally be installed in the case lid using the supplied
adhesive pad.
The location for the antenna should be selected to achieve as much separation as possible from any co-located electronic equipment, battery packs or other
conductive materials.
The antenna should be installed with the back of the antenna (the flat side with the label) facing the lid of the case. This is especially important where the antenna
includes GPS/GNSS function.
The selected location should be as flat as possible to ensure that the adhesive pad will make maximum contact. The antenna can be orientated so that the cable exits
sideways or vertically towards the bottom of the case. Ensure before installation that the cables can be successfully routed to the wireless device - consideration must
be given to observing the minimum repeated bend radius
minimum
. Ensure that the cable is routed so that it does not get trapped during lid movement. This should be included as part of the case design/layout.
3. Mounting using the adhesive pad
Note: It is recommended that the installation is carried out when the temperature is greater than 50°F (10°C). The ideal temperature for the pad bonding is 70°F (21°C)
to 100°F (37°C).
Before fitting, ensure that both the antenna face and mounting surfaces are clean and free of grease – use the supplied alcohol swab and allow the cleaned surfaces
to dry before proceeding to fit the adhesive pad. In some cases it may be necessary to stack two adhesive pads to accomodate curvature or features in the case lid.
Remove the protective backing from the adhesive pad and place on the back face of the antenna to enable the correct side to face the case lid.
Position the antenna and apply adequate pressure to ensure that it has adhered evenly and firmly.
