  • Page 10 OTDR SETTINGS- PASS/FAIL THRESHOLD- MACROBENDING SETTING It supports macrobending detection, user can tap " MacroBending Setting " to turn on/off this function and set the threshold. If the loss exceeds the setting threshold after the dual-wavelength measurement, then will be judged as a macrobending event.

  • Page 15 OTDR SETTINGS- OTDR SET- MARK User can add some basic information as reference for later checking. Tap "Mark" to enter "Mark & Auto Naming" interface, when sor. file is not opened, the setting values of all identifiers are applied to the next acquisition by default, and cannot be revised.
  • Page 16 OTDR SETTINGS- OTDR SET- MARK When Auto Naming is on, user can turn on/off file naming for every identifier, and the separator and sequence between the identifiers can be customized. With the identifiers that can be increased or decre- ased (see P14 for details), users can easily perform multi-core tests. When no identifier is enabled for filename, "unnamed.sor"...
  • Page 17 OTDR SETTINGS- OTDR SET- MARK Increment function is very helpful for data management during multi-core fiber testing. Begin, end, step value and format can be set individually for each identifier. When the begin value is less than the end value, the identifier will be cyclically incremented/decremented after each save. When multiple increment items are enabled, cyclic increment/decrement is performed according to the priority.
  • Page 18 OTDR- START MEASUREMENT After setting, tap "Average measure" or "Real-time measure" to start measurement, same as press "SCAN" Or "REAL" button. If "First connector detection" on, it will check the first connector condition and show its loss, user can choose "Cancel" Or "Continue" as per value, also can tap "Stop measuring" during the test.
  • Page 19 OTDR- EVENTS After "Average measure", the device enters "Events" interface, and displays events list at the bottom. No events list under "Real-time measure" unless "Real-time analysis" on. Events list as "event + zone" (information between two events) format, tap corresponding event or zone column, then will mark the position on the testing waveform.

It is advanced OTDR function, so require users having specialized technical knowledge to analyze the waveform in order to find inconspicuous faults. Mainly used for calculation of Loss, Attenuation, Reflectance and ORL of user-defined section.
