Automatic Sprinklers shall be used only in fire protection systems that are designed and installed in accordance with
current, applicable National Fire Protection Association (NFPA 13, 13D, 13R, etc.) standards, or equivalent standards, and in accordance
with applicable building and fire codes. These standards and codes contain important information regarding protection of systems from
freezing temperatures, corrosion, mechanical damage, etc.
• These installation instructions are intended for an experienced, trained installer. The installer shall understand the use of this product and
why it was specified for the particular application.
• The installer shall understand common industry safety standards and potential consequences of improper product installation.
Failure to follow installation requirements and local and national codes and standards could compromise system integrity or cause system
failure, resulting in death or serious personal injury and property damage.
INSTALLATION OF THE SLEEVE,
RECESSED COLLAR, OR FLUSH PLATE
The following section covers steps that are required for preparation of
dry sprinklers with removable sleeve and skirt, flush plate, and recessed
escutcheon options. NOTE: RECESSED PENDENT SPRINKLER
ASSEMBLIES AND SUPPLIED ESCUTCHEON COMPONENTS
ARE NOT FM APPROVED FOR THE 286°F/141°C TEMPERATURE
CONFIGURATION.
2. Carefully place the sleeve, recessed collar, or flush plate over the
sprinkler and onto the barrel.

• Read and understand all instructions before attempting to install any Victaulic products.
• Always verify that the piping system has been completely depressurized and drained immediately prior
to installation, removal, adjustment, or maintenance of any Victaulic products.
• Confirm that any equipment, branch lines, or sections of piping that may have been isolated for/
during testing or due to valve closures/positioning are identified, depressurized, and drained
immediately prior to installation, removal, adjustment, or maintenance of any Victaulic products.
• Wear safety glasses, hardhat, and foot protection.
Failure to follow these instructions could result in death or serious personal injury and property damage.
1a. Temporarily remove the bulb
protector from the sprinkler. Use
caution when removing the bulb
protector to prevent damage to the
bulb, deflector, and frame arms.
DO NOT use any tools to remove
the bulb protector.
1b. If an existing escutcheon
needs to be removed, carefully
disengage it from the groove on
the barrel. Use caution to prevent
any damage to the barrel, bulb,
deflector, and frame arms.
WARNING
3. Using the tool provided, push down on the sleeve, recessed collar, or
flush plate just until it is retained in the groove of the barrel. Use caution
when using this tool to prevent damage to the bulb, deflector, and frame
arms.

4. Reinstall the bulb protector onto
the sprinkler to protect the bulb
during sprinkler installation. Use
caution when reinstalling the bulb
protector to prevent damage to the
bulb, deflector, and frame arms.
DO NOT use any tools to reinstall
the bulb protector. Sprinklers
showing any signs of damage
shall be replaced immediately.
