Pull the drive (2) away from the socket to remove it.

On models with WWAN, foil is installed on the top of the SSD. Be sure to remove this foil from the old
drive and install it on the new drive. If the foil sticks to the label on the drive, be sure to separate the
foil from the label.
To install the SSD, reverse the removal procedures.
Before installing an SSD, be sure a thermal pad is installed underneath the drive as shown in the
following illustration. Be sure to replace the thermal pad if it is damaged.
NOTE:
Solid-state drives are designed with a notch to prevent incorrect insertion.

the solid-state drive (SSD).
