TROUBLESHOOTING

WARNING
Before attempting to service or
troubleshoot the generator, the owner
or service technician must first read
and understand this instruction
manual and comply with all safety
instructions. Failure to follow all
instructions may result in conditions
leading to voiding of the product
warranty, serious personal injury,
property damage or even death.
PROBLEM
Engine will not start or
starts and runs rough.

POTENTIAL CAUSE
1.
Low oil level.
2.
Generator is out of fuel.
3.
Fuel is stale or contaminated
with water or other foreign
substance.
4.
Electrical load connected to
generator.
5.
Fuel cap vent is in the OFF
position.
6.
Fuel control switch is in the
OFF position.
7.
Engine control switch is in the
STOP position.
8.
The battery is improperly
connected, completely
discharged (flat) or faulty.
9.
Spark plug boot is not
properly connected onto
spark plug terminal.
10. Spark plug is dirty or faulty.
11. Air filter is dirty or blocked.
12. Spark arrester is dirty or
blocked.
13. If above possible causes
are checked and eliminated,
generator may be faulty.
SOLUTION
1.
Check oil level and add oil if necessary.
2.
Check fuel level and add fuel if necessary.
3.
Drain fuel and refill with fresh fuel.
4.
Unplug or switch off any electrical cords or devices
from the 240-Volt AC receptacles.
5.
Move fuel cap vent to the ON position.
6.
Turn fuel control switch to the ON position.
7.
Push engine control switch into the AUTO RUN
position.
8.
Check the battery and connect, recharge or replace it
if necessary.
9.
Push spark plug boot firmly onto spark plug.
10. Clean or replace spark plug.
11. Check air filter element and clean if necessary.
12. Check spark arrester and clean if necessary.
13. Take generator to an authorised Westinghouse
service dealer.
