Selects the type of audio signal ontput from
the HDMI OUT jack.
AUTO
Nomlally, select this. Outputs
andio signals according to the
"DIGITAL OUT" settings
(page 69).
PCM
Converts Dolby Digital, or
96 kHz_4 bit PCM signals to
48 kHzi16 bit PCM.
A loud noise (or no sound) will be output if you
connect
the player to a TV that is not compatible
with DOLBY
DIGITAL,'DTS
signals and "AUTO"
is selected
In this case, select "PCM."
Settings for the Sound
(AUDIOSETUP)
"AUDIO
SETUP" allows you to set the sound
according
to the playback
and connection
conditions.
Select "AUDIO
SETUP" in the Setup
Display.
To use the display, see "Using the
Setup Display"
(page 63).
The defauh settings are nnderlined.
4!, AUDIO ATT (attenuation)
If the playback
sound is distorted,
set this
item to "ON." The player reduces the audio
output level.
This fnnction affects the output of the LINE
OUT LiR (AUDIO) jacks.
OFF
Normally, select this position.
ON
Select this when the playback somld
from the speakers is distorted.
4!,AUDIODRC (Dynamic RangeControl)
(DVDVIDEO/DVD-VRmodeonly)
Makes the sound clear when the volume is
turned down when playing a DVD that
conforms to "AUDIO DR(."
This fnnction affects the output from the
following jacks:
LINE OUT LR (AUDIO) jacks
DIGITAL OUT (OPTICAL or (OAXIAL)
HDMI OUT jack on!y when "DOLBY
DIGITAL" is set to "D-P(M" (page 70).
STANDARD Nom_ally select this position.
TV MODE
Makes low soundsclear even if
you turn the volume down.
WIDE
Gives you the feeling of being
RANGE
at a live perl\_rmance.
