Settings for the Display
(SCREEN SETUP)
Choose settings according to the TV to be
connected.
Select "S( REEN SETUP" in the Setup
Display. To use the display, see "Using the
Setup Display" (page 63).
The default settings are underlined.
• TV TYPE
Selects the aspect ratio o Jr'the connected TV
_:3 standard or wide).

Select this when yon connect a
wide-screen TV or a TV with a
wide mode fnnction.
Select this when you connect a
4:3 screen TV. Displays a wide
_icture with bands on the tipper
and lower portions of the
screen.
Select this when yon connect a
4:3 screen I5 T.Automatically
displays the wide picture on the
entire screen and cuts off the
_ortions that do not fit.
I6:9
Depending on the DVD, "4:3 LETTER BOX" may
be selected automatically instead of "4:3 PAN
SCAN" or vice veisa.
e,HDMI RESOLUTION
Selects the type of video signals output from
the HDMI OUT jack. When you select
AUTO (default), the player outputs video
signals of the highest resolution acceptable
for your TV. If the picture is not clear, natural
or to your saris Jr'action, try another option that
suits the disc and your TViprojector, etc. For
details, refer also to the instruction manual
supplied with the TViprojector, etc.
AUTO Normally, select this.
1929x 1089i Sends 1920x 1080i video
signals.
1289x 720p Sends 1280x 720p video
signals.
729x 489p Sends 720x 480p video signals.
• Even when a setting oilier than "AUTO" is
selected and the connected TV cannot accept the
resolution, the player automatically adjusts the
video signals that a*e suitable tbr the TV.
• When the HDMI indicator on the front panel r0
lights up, images from the S VIDEO OUT and =,'
LINE OUT (VIDEO)jacks aie enlaiged
vertically. (Except when 720x 480p is selected) =_
41' Y CBCRIRGB (HDMI)
Selects the type of HDMI signal output from
HDMI OUT .jack.

YCBCR Outputs YCBC_ signals. _"
RGB Outputs RGB signals.
4:3 LETTER BOX
4:3 PAN SCAN
• If the playback pictm-e becomes distorted, set
"YCBCa" to "RGB "
• If the HDMI OUT jack is connected to equipment
with a DVI jack, "RGB" signals will be
automatically output even when you select
"YCBCa".
