To reset the tape counter while listening to or
recording from CDs or the radio

is being displayed (displayed for approximately
5 seconds).
For your reference:
•When the tape is travelling in the reverse direction, the value dis¬
played on the tape counter will count down.
After "000_" is reached, the display will switch to "999_" and then
continue counting down.
•It is useful—for example—to reset the counter when recording
from the middle of tapes. The number lets you know roughly where
you started from.
About the playback indicators:
While halted, fast forwarding, or rewinding:
Lights up orange.
While playing or recording:
Lights up green.
While finding the beginning of a program or recording is on standby:
Flashes green.

Hi-speed fast-forward/rewind
This cassette deck is designed to roughly double fast-forward/re-
wind speed automatically.
When you fast-forward from the beginning of the tape or rewind
from the end of it, the tape runs at high speed and the high speed
rewind/fast forward indicator flashes.
When reaching the end of the tape, the deck automatically drops to
normal speed.
For your reference:
•Each deck's play direction is stored in the system's memory.
•The deck may not sometimes make the high-speed rewind/fast-
forward from midway through the tape.
•You can fast forward or rewind the tape while you are playing or
recording a tape in another deck. Press DECK 1 /2 to switch to the
non playing deck, and then press ◄◄ or ►►, After the above
operation, be sure to press DECK 1/2 to select the deck in which
you are playing a tape.
