"Perform these maintenance procedures more frequently when engine is
operated under extremely dusty and dirty conditions.
**250 Hours when leaded gasoline is used.

WARNING:
Accidental Starts!
Before servicing the engine or equipment, always
remove the spark plug leads to prevent the engine
from starting accidentally. Ground the leads to pre-
vent sparks that could cause fires.
CHECK OIL LEVEL
The importance of checking and maintaining the prop-
er oil level in crankcase cannot be overemphasized.
Check oil BEFORE EACH USE as follows:
1. Make sure the engine is stopped, level, and is
соо! so the oil has had time to drain into the
sump.
2. Clean the area around dipstick before removing to
keep dirt, grass clippings, etc., out of the engine.
3. Remove dipstick and wipe oil off. Reinsert dip-
Stick and push it all the way down into tube. Re-
move dipstick and check the level.
The oil level should be up to, but not over, the "F"
mark on the dipstick. Refer to Figure 3-1.
