Arched Segment Walls

The outside arched wall lengths are measured outside of the arc (see diagram below).
The inside arched wall lengths are measured inside of the arc.

ARCHED SEGMENT WALLS (OUTSIDE)

Example: A lobby is designed to have an arched window set behind the reception desk with
measurements of 9 Feet 2 Inches in width and and a window height of 3 Feet 11-1/2 Inches. Find the
arc angle, arc length and segment area of the window (similar to regular arc calculation). Then, using
standard On-center spacing of 16 Inches, find the "outside" arched segment wall lengths in order to
frame the window.
