Touch the option that is right for
you on the screen.
• DVD-RW
Select tilerecording format, [VIDEO]
or [VR] (p. 1I), then touch [Og].
• DVD+RW
Select the aspect ratio of the movie,
[16:9WIDE] or [4:31,then touch [OK].
Touch [YES].
When [Completed.]
is displayed,
touch I_.
When the formatting is completed, you
can start recording on the disc.
"_° Tips
• When you use a DVD-RW while the Easy
Handycam operation (p. 31 ) is set, the
recording format is fixed to VIDEO
]node.
To remove the disc
(_) Perform
steps 1 and 2 to open the disc
cover.
@ Press the disc holder
in the center of the
disc compartment,
and remove the disc by
holding the edge.
fO Notes
• Be careful not to obstruct tile operation
with
your hand or other ot,jects, when opening or
closing the disc cover. Move lhe grip belt to the
bottonl of tile cunlcorder, then open or close tile
disc cover.
• If you catch lhe grip belt when closing the disc
cover,
it nlay
cause
your
canlcorder
to
nlalhmction.
• Do nol louch the disc wilh the rccording side or
pickup lens (p. 118).
Wllml using a double-sided disc, take care nol to
smudge lhe surface wilb fingerprinls,
• If you close the disc cover with lhe disc sol
incorreoly,
it may cause your canlcorder to
nlallunoion.
• Do nol disconnecl
lhe power sources while
Iornl_ming a disc.
• Do not apply shock or vibration to your
camcorder since your camcorder is leading/
writing on tile disc:
while the ACCESS lamp is on
while the ACCESS lamp is flashing
while [DISC ACCESSI or [PREPARING
TO
OPEN] is displayed on the LCD scrcen
• It may take sonle time to remove tile disc
depending on tile recorded contclaS.
• It may take about 10 minutes to remove a disc if
the disc has scratches or is dirty with
fingerprints,
etc, In that case, the disc might be
damaged,

SELECT GUIDEI on tile HOME MENU
(p. 7o).
