Audio Digital S/PDIF Optical
If your AV receiver is not compatible with HDMI, you can connect your player to your AV receiver
using S/PDIF optical (TOS-link) output as follows:
HD Sound
S/PDIF can carry two channels
of uncompressed PCM audio
or compressed 5.1 surround
sound (such as DTS audio
codec or Dolby Digital codec);
it cannot support lossless
surround formats that require
greater bandwidth like DTS-HD.
Headphones
If you own headphones, connect the HDMI output to your TV, and use the headphone jack located on
the back of the player. Then, adjust the volume of your TV to the minimum (to avoid duplication effect).
