Connecting
an audio system
This connection
allows you to use an audio amplifier
to adjust the
audio level. This also allows you to use external
speakers.
To control
the audio, turn on the TV and the stereo amplifier,
and
turn off the built-in
speakers
(see "Turning
off the built-in
speakers"
on page 52).
You will need:
• one
pair
of audio cables
Note:
Tobear sound when using an externalaudio amplifier,the
volume of both the TVand the amplifier must be set
above 0 Czero)
For example,if the volume of the TVls set to O, y ou will
not be able to hear any sound, even the volume of the
ampliher is at its hl_Thest l evd
Connecting
an A/V receiver
This connection allows you to use an audio/video
(A/V) receiver to
enhance your TV's sound.
tfyou have a sound system with Dolby Surround Pro Logic, you can
add to the realism of the sound by using the TV's internal speakers as
center channel speakers.
You will need:
• one set of standard A/V cables
• one single standard audio cable for the audio center channel

Note:
Refer to the instructionsprovided withyour A/V receiver
for details about your surround sound system
When the Audio Center Channel ON/OFF switch is in
the ON position, the TVspeakers will function only as
center channel speakers
Adjust the volume for the center channel speakers
using the center level control on the A/V receive_
Touse the TVspeakersas normal speakers,set the
Audio Center Channel ON/OFF switch to the OFF
position

Caution:
Toavoid damaging the speakers
• Turnofftbe 7Vbefore connecting or
disconnecting the Audio Center Channel
cable.
• Do not connect from the A/Vreceivers
ampliphied center speaker OUT to the TV's
