  • Page 9 Setting up the handset for use Inserting the batteries Only use rechargeable batteries otherwise major health risks and injury may result. For example, the outer casing of the batteries could be damaged beyond repair or the batteries could explode. The device could also malfunction or be damaged as a result of using batteries that are not of the recommended type.
  • Page 10 Setting up the handset for use Charging the batteries Charge the batteries fully prior to first use in the charging cradle. The batteries are fully charged when the power 8.5 h icon disappears from the display. Batteries can heat up during the charge process. This is not dangerous. Over time, the charging capacity of the batteries will decrease for technical reasons.

Some Gigaset bases or third-party bases/routers may not be fully compatible with the handset and not all functions will be displayed correctly. In this case, use the menu option Basic Registration.
