PROCEDURE
FIG. 8
Awning
Rail
Arm
Assembly
4. While one person guides awning fabric (with aw-
ning roller cover, if equipped) into awning rail (a
stepladder may be necessary), carefully move
(carry) awning hardware assembly to desired
position. See (FIG. 8).
A t least two other people are required
to hold and control hardware until back
channels are correctly installed.
5. After awning fabric has been threaded into aw-
ning rail, check to make sure its position allows
for solid mounting of back channels, and that arm
assemblies are in desired location (not restrict-
ing use of doors, windows, etc.). See (FIG. 9).
T o install over windows, see subsec-
tion, "B. Optional Components & Kits" on
page (3) to order back channel spacer
kits.

Failure to obey the following warn-
ings could result in death or serious injury:
● IMPACT OR CRUSH HAZARD. This product
should be installed in a controlled environment
(inside). Do NOT install product during windy
conditions, or when wind is expected. The product
could move unpredictably, become unstable, and
bend or collapse.
● FIRE OR ELECTRICAL SHOCK HAZARD. Verify
there are no obstacles inside RV's roof and/or
walls (wires, pipes, etc.). Shut OFF gas supply,
disconnect 120 Vac power from RV, and discon-
nect positive (+) 12 Vdc terminal from supply
battery BEFORE drilling or cutting into RV. Failure
to obey these warnings could result in death or
serious injury.
Failure to obey the following notices
could damage product or property:
● ALWAYS use sealant on (clean) parts and sur-
faces where fasteners enter RV's roof and/or
walls. Otherwise, water leakage could occur.
● Install back channels on a flat surface, level, and
keep parallel with each other to ensure correct
function and appearance.
1. V erify location of awning:
a. IMPACT OR CRUSH HAZ-
ARD. Verify mounting surface on RV is flat,
has solid structural backing where fasteners
penetrate surface, and will safely and se-
curely support product. Otherwise, product
may become unstable and could bend or
collapse. Failure to obey this warning could
result in death or serious injury.
Find a solid structure in RV wall for support
of back channels (all mounting points).
b. Allow for sufficient clearance
between awning fabric and entry door to ac-
commodate awning pitch (slope).
Avoid location that interferes with entry door
swing when awning is completely extended.
See subsection, "A. Door Clearance" on
page (4).
