Radio Operations
FM Reception
For
enhanced
FM
performance
the
WGI-TCIWE® tuner includes signal actuated
stereo control and Multipath noise reduction cir¬
cuits.
Listening to the Radio
1) Press Ihe FUNC button 0 to select the radio
mode.
2) Press the BAND button 0] and select the
radio bands. Each time the button is pressed,
the radio reception band changes in the fol¬
lowing order:
FM1
FM2 -» FM3 ■+ AM -► FM1 ...
♦ The FM1, FM2, and FM3 bands provide a maxi¬
mum of 18 FM stations on the 6 presets. The
reception frequency range is the same for all
three.
3) Select right or left (<4 ►>) to tune to the
desired station using the a-selector.
Tuning
There are three types of tuning modes available,
seek tuning, manual tuning, and preset tuning.
• The units default setting is the seek tuning mode.
Seek tuning
1) Press the BAND button [4] to select the
desired FM or AM band,
2) If "MANU" appears in the display, press and
hold the BAND button 0] for at least 2 sec¬
onds. "MANIT disappears from the display
and seek tuning is possible.
3) Select right or left (<4 fusing the a-
selector to seek tune up or down the recep¬
tion band.
Manual tuning
1) Press the BAND button [4] to select the
desired FM or AM band.
2) If "MANU" is not illuminated In thedisplay,
press and hold the BAND button |T for at
least 2 seconds. "MANU" appears in the dis¬
play and manual tuning is now possible.
Quick tuning or Step tuning
There are two ways to tune manually.
• Quick tuning:
Press and hold left or right (<4, ►>) on the a-
selector for 1 second or longer. The reception
band is stepped through quickly.
• Step tuning:
Press left or right ( <4

►>) momentarily on the
a-selector to tune through the reception band.
Preset Tuning
A total of 24 Preset positions (6-FM1, 6-FM2( 6-
FM3, 6-AM) exist to store individual radio sta¬
tions in memory. Pressing the corresponding
preset button recalls the stored radio frequency
automatically.
1) Press the BAND button [4] to select the
desired FM or AM band.
2) Press the corresponding Preset button @2) to
recall the stored station,
* Press and hold
one of

seconds or longer to
store that station into preset
memory.
Manual Memory
A total of 24 Preset positions (6-FM1, 6-FM2, 6-
FM3, 6-AM) exist to store individual radio sta¬
tions in memory. Pressing the corresponding
preset button recalls the stored radio frequency
automatically.
1) Press the BAND button [4] to select the
desired FM or AM band.
2) Select right or left (<4 ►>) to tune in to a
desired station using the a-selector \3}.
" 3) Press and hold one of the Preset buttons |l2]
for 2 seconds or longer to store that station
into preset memory.
Auto Store
Auto store is a function for storing up to 6 sta¬
tions that are automatically tuned in sequential¬
ly. Unless 6 strong stations cannot be received,
a previously stored station remains unchanged
at that memory position. Also, Auto store keeps
track of what stations are stored in memory so
no duplication is possible.
1) Press the BAND button {4} to select the
desired FM or AM band.
2) Press ^nd hold the AS button {5} for 2 sec¬
onds or longer. The stations with good recep¬
tion quality are stored automatically to the
preset buttons.
Note:
* When the auto store is preformed, the station previ¬
ously stored are not overwritten it 6 stations strong
stations are not found.
Changing the reception area
This unit is initially set to US frequency intervals
of 10 kHz for AM and 200 kHz for FM deviation.
When using the player outside the US, the fre¬
quency reception range can switch to the inter¬
vals below:

Note:
• This tuner s spacing is designed for limited areas out¬
side the US (Australia, New Zealand\ parts of Asia,
and South America). This tuner wiii not function in aii
reception areas. Consult with the Cfarion dealer in
your particular country for the proper reception fre¬
quencies required for that area.
•Setting the reception area:
1) Press the BAND button
0

to select the
desired FM or AM band.

While pressing the BAND button

tuning area to the outside the U S settings.
3) While pressing the BAND button

select
right *> on the a-selector [3) to change the
tuning area back to the inside the U.S. set¬
tings.
* Any station presets memories are lost when changing
the reception area.
