Caution To avoid damaging the Ethernet interface, turn off the printer before making any Ethernet connections. Ethernet Connections and Indicators RCV (receive) indicator (green); blinks while the interface is receiving.
Installing Printer Drivers Running the Installer From the Printer’s Hard Disk If a hard drive is installed on the printer, you can run the installer from it. This method requires that you already have a TCP/IP connection to the printer.
On the Configuration Page, all zeros in one or more of the IPX Networks fields indicates that the printer does not recognize the network connection; this probably indicates a faulty cable connection, an incorrect frame type, or Reply to Get Nearest Server has not been set to On.
For installation on a workstation for peer-to-peer printing, see Installation on Workstations for Peer-to-Peer Printing on page 9. If the log file is stored in the printer’s memory, it is lost when the printer is reset; therefore, it is recommended that a hard disk be used for job accounting.
