Does the compressor run
with low suction pressure
and insufficient cooling?
Action Based On Status
Check the Dometic Q heat relay operation.
Check the auxiliary heater thermal overload switch for
continuity.
Check the electrical connections to the Dometic Q
heat relay.
Verify the resistance in the auxiliary heater circuit. The
auxiliary heater resistance should read approximately
5.3 Ohms.
Verify the continuity of the auxiliary heater element.
Replace the auxiliary heater element if the readings are
incorrect.
Check for debris in the evaporator airflow. If debris is
found, clear as necessary.
Verify air flow through the evaporator.
Check for continuity. If there is no continuity, replace
the Auxiliary Heater Thermal Overload Switch.
• Check that the circuit breaker is pushed in. If the
circuit breaker is not pushed in, push the circuit
breaker in.
• Check for continuity when the breaker is pushed
in and the power is disconnected. If there is no
continuity, replace the circuit breaker.
Check the condenser airflow. If the condenser airflow
is blocked, remove the obstructions from the system.
• Verify that there are no noncondensables in the system.
• Check the system pressures and correct as
necessary.
Verify the evaporator airflow is not restricted. Check
the system and remove obstructions as necessary.
Check the fan speed. Adjust if necessary.
Test the evaporator blower capacitor. If the capacitor is
found to be faulty, replace the capacitor.
Test the refrigerant pressure in the system to ensure the
system is not low on refrigerant.
