2. Safety Instructions

Always read and heed all instructions given below. Failure to comply or
incorrect compliance can result in malfunctions or cause injuries.
2.1. Requirements regarding personnel
The side cup spray gun may only be used by experienced skilled workers
and instructed persons who have thoroughly read and understood these
operating instructions. People whose reactions have been adversely af-
fected by drugs, alcohol, medication or by any other means are prohibited
from handling the side cup spray gun.
2.2. Personal Protection Equipment
Always use approved breathing and eye protection, suitable protective
gloves, workwear and safety boots when using the side cup spray gun
and during cleaning and maintenance work.
2.3. Use in explosive atmospheres
The side cup spray gun is approved for use / storage in potentially explo-
sive atmospheres of ex-zone 1 and 2. Heed the product ID.
• The following applications and operations lead to the loss
of the explosion protection and are, therefore, prohibited:
• Use of the spray gun in explosive areas belonging to ex-zone 0!
• Do not use solvents and cleaning agents based on halogenised
hydrocarbons! Chemical reaction which may occur when using these
substances may be explosive!

■ For usage in explosive atmospheres, prior to initial commissioning the
side cup spray gun must be inspected in accordance with the Industrial
Safety Regulations by a qualified specialist having adequate knowledge
of the ATEX Directive.
