2. The wearer, whenever possible, should remain in an
upright position facing in the direction of the receiver.
3. The wearer should try to avoid sitting down, leaning
forward, lying down or leaning against metallic objects
such as structures, automobiles, trucks, chairs, tables,
a n d e t c . T h e w e a r e r s h o u l d a l s o b e a w a r e t h a t n o n -
metallic objects in front of the antenna area will also
degrade the signal.
4. When circumstances permit, the transmitter-to-
r e c e i v e r l i n k s h o u l d b e c h e c k e d - o u t i n a d v a n c e o f t h e
operation. This will assure establishing the L.P.
(Listening Post) well within range of the transmitter.

When the TX-716 or TX-916 is operated through arepeater
equipped with avoice scrambler, either the transmitter or the
repeater (not both) should be switched to the scramble mode
to transmit scrambled signals from the repeater.
