Overview
The HKPF-E270 HDCAM Encoder Board is designed

to convert HD SDI
signal (conforms to the SMPTE-

292M) to SDTI
(HDCAM) signal.
The HKPF-E270 can be installed in the PFV-HD50A/
HD300 Digital Video Interface Unit. When installed,
the HKPF-E270 draws its power from the interface
unit.
Since the HKPF-E270 shares the same dimensions and
voltage specifications as the other HKPF-series boards
for the PFV-HD50A/HD300, it can be used in any
combination with the other boards, thus providing high
flexibility in system configurations.

Features of the HKPF-E270
Conversion to SDTI (HDCAM) signal
The HKPF-E270 is capable of converting the HD SDI
signal to the SDTI (HDCAM) signal.
Automatic input-signal-format detection
The HKPF-E270 can detect and automatically conform
to the number of effective scanning lines (1,035 lines
or 1,080 lines) in an HD SDI signal.
Note
The field frequency is fixed to 59.94Hz.
External synchronization
The HKPF-E270 can output the SDTI (HDCAM)
signal with synchronized to the external SYNC signal
(1125 or 525 SYNC signal).
Error correction
The HKPF-E270 can detect and correct the bit errors
in transmission of the SDTI (HDCAM) signal.
