Keep guards in place. Guards must be in working or-
u
der and be properly mounted. A guard that is loose,
damaged, or is not functioning correctly may result in per-
sonal injury.
Keep all cooling air inlets clear of debris. Blocked air
u
inlets and debris may result in overheating or risk of fire.
Wear eye protection and ear protection. Adequate pro-
u
tective equipment will reduce personal injury.
While operating the machine, always wear non-slip
u
and protective footwear. Do not operate the machine
when barefoot or wearing open sandals. This reduces
the chance of injury to the feet from contact with a mov-
ing cutter, line or blade.
Always wear clothing such as trousers that covers the
u
operator's legs while operating the machine. Contact
with the moving cutter or line may cause injury.
Keep bystanders away while operating the machine.
u
Thrown debris can result in serious personal injury.
Do not operate the machine above waist height. This
u
helps prevent unintended cutter contact and enables bet-
ter control of the machine in unexpected situations.
Exercise caution when operating the machine in wet
u
grass. Walk, never run. This reduces the risk of slipping
and falling which may result in personal injury.
Do not operate the machine on excessively steep
u
slopes. This reduces the risk of loss of control, slipping
and falling which may result in personal injury.
When working on slopes, always be sure of your foot-
u
ing, always work across the face of slopes, never up or
down and exercise extreme caution when changing
direction. This reduces the risk of loss of control, slipping
and falling which may result in personal injury.
Keep all power cords and cables away from cutting
u
area. Power cords or cables may be hidden in hedges or
bushes and can be accidentally cut or damaged by the
line or cutter.
Keep all parts of the body away from the moving trim-
u
mer cutter or line. Do not clear material from the ma-
chine until it has been disconnected from the power
source. The moving trimmer cutter or line may result in
serious personal injury.
Carry the machine with the machine switched off and
u
away from your body. Proper handling of the machine
will reduce the likelihood of accidental contact with a
moving trimmer cutter or line.
Only use replacement cutting heads and trimmer cut-
u
ters or lines specified by the manufacturer. Do not re-
place the trimmer cutters or lines with metal wires or
blades. Incorrect replacement parts may cause loss of
control, breakage and injury.
Special Safety Warnings

u

Never allow children, persons with physical, sensory or

ledge and/or people unfamiliar with these instructions to
use the machine. Local regulations may restrict the age of
the operator.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not
u
play with the machine.
Check the product for damage if it hits a hard object or in
u
case of excessive vibration.
When shortening the cutting line, take care not to cut
u
yourself.
Cut high and dense grass in stages to achieve uniform cut-
u
ting results.
When inserting the battery, make sure that the cutting
u
means does not make contact with your body and other
objects, including the floor. The cutting means may rotate
during start-up and cause injury or damage to the product
and/or objects.
Do not over reach and keep your balance at all times. Al-
u
ways be sure of your footing on slopes. Walk, never run.
In case of prolonged use, we recommend to take appro-
u
priate breaks.
Prolonged use of the product (or other machines) expos-
u
ing the operator to vibrations may produce white finger
disease (Raynaud's phenomenon) or carpal tunnel syn-
drome.
These conditions reduce the hand's ability to feel and reg-
u
ulate temperature, can lead to numbness and burning
sensations and may cause nerve and circulation damage
and tissue necrosis.
Contact your doctor if you experience symptoms of over-
u
exposure to vibration. These symptoms include numb-
ness, loss of feeling, tingling, pricking, pain, loss of
strength, changes in skin colour or condition. These
symptoms normally appear in the fingers, hands or wrists
(refer to Noise & Vibration information).
Recommendations for Optimal Handling of the
Battery Pack
Do not open the battery. There is a risk of short-circuit-
u
ing.
Protect the battery against heat (e.g.,
against continuous intense sunlight), fire,
water, and moisture. There is a risk of explo-
sion.
When not using the machine detach the battery away
u
from paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws, or other
small metal objects that could cause bridging of the
terminals. Shorting the battery terminals together may
cause burns or a fire.
In case of damage and improper use of the battery
u
pack, vapours may be emitted. Ventilate the area and
seek medical help in case of complaints. The vapours can
irritate the respiratory system.
Only use the battery with products from the manufac-
u
turer. This is the only way in which you can protect the
battery against dangerous overload.
