Carry out the following procedure on each solenoid in turn:-
(i)
Screw in the central {armature} adjustment until
two
distinct
'clicks' are heard, indicating that both microswitches have
operated: turn the adjusting screw in a further quarter of a
turn and then tighten the lock nut. -
{ii} Repeat the above adj ustment on the other so lenoid.
{iii} Swi tch off the power.
{iv} Turn the 'back stop' pozidrive screw down unti I the armature plate
just starts to
lift
at its hinged point.
{v} Turn the adjusting screw back
a quarter turn and tighten the lock
nut.
(vi) Repeat (iv) and {v} on the other solenoid.

Switch on the power and check that the solenoids operate correctly as
the SENSITIVITY switch is operated, as follows:-

Finally, seal both adjustments on each relay with a suitable varnish.

Sensitivity {Shaper} Adjustment
(l)
From a signal generator apply a signal of 10 MHz at 10 mV r.m.s. to
the INPUT socket of the instrument.

Set the SENSITIVITY switch to O. 01V.

Connect the high impedance probe of an oscilloscope to the junction of
C18/R31 on the Amplifier Divider Assembly (Fig.4.9).
(4)
Adjust potentiometer R24 to the centre of the movement which produces a
1: 1 mark-space ratio on the rectangular wave form. The amplitude
should be approximately 500 mV peak-to-peak.
