10. Ion mist unit
・ The ion mist unit causes the discharge electrode for ion mist to absorb water generated as a result of condensation
stemming from a cooled Peltier device. It then uses a high-voltage generator to apply high voltage, thereby discharging ion
mist.
・ The ion mist unit applies a voltage of about -6 kV.
・ To prevent electric shocks, a "detection switch for front panel open/closed states" is installed. Opening the front panel will
forcibly stop the supply of power supply voltage 12 V of the ion mist unit.
・ The ion mist unit starts to run as controlled by the microcomputer (IC601) when set to "ion mist operation" by remote
control.
・ "Ion mist operation" can be configured when the product is running in any of the following modes: "cooling," "heating,"
"dehumidification," or "comfortable cooling." The product can also be run in "ion mist operation" alone.
・ When configured to "air purification," the product will not discharge ion mist. For that reason, the electrical dust collector
alone will be activated.
Check
When extreme dirt on an electrode increases the output current from the high-voltage generator, resulting in a decline in
output voltage, the ion mist unit may stop.
In that case, the product will give a failure display, causing the "mist and air purification lamp" to remain on for 4 seconds
and off for 1 second. If the above factors are absent and if the "mist and air purification lamp" remains on for 4 seconds
and off for 1 second as a failure display, it should be either the CN14 connector being loose or the high-voltage generator
having a failure.
※Even if the above failure display is on, the ion mist unit alone will stop. The air-conditioner proper will remain trouble-free
 for operation.
※The ion mist unit will perform judgment by prolonged sampling in order to prevent erroneous detection. There is a mode
where, to perform failure judgment in a short time at the time of servicing, and if the first signal received from the remote
control unit after power-on is "air purification," the product will give a failure display about 10 seconds later.
Check
When the Peltier device fails, the ion mist unit will stop.
In that case, the failure display will occur and the "mist and air purification lamp" will remain on for 4 seconds and off for 3
seconds. If the above factors are absent and if the "air purification lamp" remains on for 4 seconds and off for 3 seconds
(thereby giving a failure display), it should be either the CN19 connector being loose or the Peltier power circuit having a
failure.
※Even if the above failure display is on, the ion mist unit alone will stop. The air-conditioner proper will remain trouble-free
 for operation.
※The ion mist unit will perform judgment by prolonged sampling in order to prevent erroneous detection. There is a mode
where, to perform failure judgment in a short time at the time of servicing, and if the first signal received from the remote
control unit after power-on is "air purification in isolation," the product will give a failure display about 10 seconds later.
Check
When the front panel is open, or when the CN13 connector is loose, the "clean lamp" will remain on for 1 second and
remain dimmed for 1 second. The ion mist unit will then stop.
Correctly mounting the front panel will cancel the blinking, with the ion mist unit becoming operable.
