Adjusting focus manually
If the camera does not seem to be focusing well, it may be because the subject is
not suitable for autofocus, (p. 74)
Make sure the program selector is turned to any mode other than □ Easy
Recording.

Focus lock
Press the FOCUS dial in to turn off
autofocus. The focus remains locked at
the point set by autofocus.
(AFEH appears in the display.)
You can now adjust the focus manually.
Press the FOCUS dial in again when
you want to return to autofocus.

Lock the focus as explained above,
then use the manual focus dial to adjust
the focus.
• Turn the dial upwards to bring the
focus nearer.
• Turn the dial downwards to move the
focus farther away.
Notes:
• If you zoom in on your subject after locking the focus, it may not stay in focus.
It is generally best to adjust the zoom first, and then the focus.
• The manual focus setting is cancelled if you change the position of the POWER

switch.
