The ABS warning light and the brake warn-
ing light come on together. The ABS will not
work and you will notice a change in braking
response and performance.
Malfunction in the brake system

may also be a malf unct ion in the brake system

Malfunction in the electronic differential
lock ( EDL)
The EDL works toget her with the ABS. The
ABS warning ligh t will come on if the re is a
malfunc ti on in the EDL system
c:> page 200 .

- If

(USA mode ls)/ 11] (Canada
mode ls) warn ing light does not go out ,
or if it comes on while driving, the ABS
system is not working prope rly. The vehi-
cle can then be stopped only with the
standard brakes (without ABS). You will
not have the protection ABS provides .
Contact your autho rized Audi dealer as
soon as possible.

firs t under hard braking. Rear wheel lock-
up can cause loss of vehicle cont rol and
an accident. Have your vehicle repaired

slowly and avoid sudden, hard brake ap-
plications.

Electromechanical parking brake
The warning/indicator
light monitors t he
elec t romechanical parking brake.

ada models) warn ing/indi cator lig ht ill umi -
nates . After the ignition has been t urned off,
the warning/ indicator light continues to ill u-
minate for about 30 seconds.
If
the parking
brake is applied with the ign ition t urned off,
the war ning/ indicato r light illum inates for
about 30 seconds.
The wa rning/indicator light wi ll go out when
the parking brake is released .
If the warning/indicator
light flas hes continu-
ously after applying the parking brake, brak-
ing f orce is not suff icient to prevent the vehi-
cle from rolling unintentionally . Please note
the followi ng:
- If the slo pe of the ground is too steep to
park the vehicle, the addit ional drive mes-
sage appears Caution : Vehicle parked too
steep .
- In the event of a parking brake malfunction,
the yellow
IIJ
symbol appears in the instr u-
ment cluste r display and the driver message
Parking brake malfunction! is display ed.

ot her qual ifi ed wor kshop.
