Unintentional wiping
WARNING
Risk of injury when cleaning the windshield. In rain
sensor mode, the windshield wipers wipe automati-
cally when water is detected on the windshield.

Switch off the windshield wipers before cleaning
the windshield.
NOTE
Risk of damage to the luggage compartment lid,
windshield and wiper system.

Only wipe the windshield when sufficiently wet,
otherwise it could become scratched.
e
Carefully detach frozen wiper blades from the
windshield by hand before driving.
e
Do not operate a frozen headlight cleaning sys-
tem.
e
Always switch off windshield wipers in car
washes to prevent them from wiping uninten-
tionally (rain sensor mode).
e
Do not operate the headlight cleaning system in
car washes.
e
Always hold the wiper arm securely when replac-
ing wiper blades.
e
Pay attention to the varying length of wiper
blades when replacing them.

0 Windshield wipers off
When the windshield wipers or operational readi-
ness are switched off, the wipers move up slightly
from their rest position so that the wiping edges
are aligned correctly.

4 Windshield wipers - one-touch operation

Move wiper lever downward.
The windshield wipers carry out one wiping
cycle.
5 Windshield wiper and washer system

Pull wiper lever towards the steering wheel.
The washer system wipes and sprays while
the lever is pulled toward the steering wheel.
When the wiper lever is released, a few drying
wipes are performed. After every 10 wipes
of the windshield, the headlights are cleaned
automatically.
Information
Windshield wiper blades in perfect condition are vital
for ensuring a clear view.

If extremely soiled, repeat the cleaning process.
e
Persistent dirt (e.g. insect remains) should be
removed regularly.
