Steps for determining the correct payload limit:

Look for the information "The combined weight
of occupants and luggage must never exceed
XXX kg or XXX lbs" on the vehicle plate.

Determine the total weight of the driver and oc-
cupants who will be traveling with you.

Subtract the total weight of the driver and occu-
pants from XXX lbs. or XXX kg
–
The resulting value is the available capacity for
the payload and luggage. For example, if "XXX" is
1400 lbs and there are four occupants weighing
150 lbs each, the payload and luggage capacity
is calculated as follows: [1400 – 600 (4 x 150)
= 800 lbs.].

Determine the combined weight of the payload
and luggage for the vehicle. This weight must
not exceed the payload and luggage capacity
calculated in step 4.
