Using the machine only for fertilizing. Tume Nova Combi can also be used for fertilizer placement only. Fertilizer in this case will be filled into the fertilizer or seed container or to both. Special instructions related to the mere fertilizer placement are quite consistent with the instructions of the previous section.
  • Page 10: General Guidance For Sowing

    4. GENERAL GUIDANCE FOR SOWING Coulter features in sowing Nova Combi is equipped with 2-disc coulters, where the right and left discs have different diameters. The first disc essentially determines the seed sowing depth and the larger disc creates a bit deeper groove for the fertilizers. Machine is also available with same size discs. With that option seeds and fertilizers goes to the same depth.

chambers. Exercise caution when pushing the troughs into place. Hold them in an absolutely straight line in terms of the machine. If a trough is pushed strongly so that its head is directed upwards, the trough can hit one of the feeder chambers and damage them. Be careful while taking the sieves out from the hopper.
  • Page 12: Drawbar Installation

quick latches which are in the front edge of the sledge. By adjusting the latch to the lowest notches, the maximum sowing depth can be achieved. Respectively, by adjusting the latch i.e. to the upper notches sowing can be done to soil surface. Adjusting seeding depth is described completely in chapter 9.

  • Page 14: Hydraulic Connections

Hydraulic connections Standard Super Nova Combi lift/lower hydraulics are connected to single action valve. Drawbar cylinder needs its own double action valve. Free return must not have counter pressure and it is best to connect directly to tank. NOTE! Too big counter pressure in free return slows down rear harrow’s downwards movement or can prevent it completely from going down.

  • Page 16 On the other end of the cabin harness there is a connector for seed drill’s power (X12V), which is connected to the power cable connector X12V. To the seed drill power goes through connectors A1.1 and A1.2. Same connectors are used for data, lights and cameras.

Do not turn off terminal’s (picture 8 b) power off by removing 3-pin power plug. Turn first S1 off and wait until power light goes off from the terminal. Terminal has shut off then.
  • Page 18: Electrically Controlled Up And Down Limits For Lifting

System stores programs, settings and measured values even the power is switched off. After power blackout it is recommended to check feeding rate adjustments and tramline settings. When machine is stopped for a longer period, e.g. overnight, power should be switched off with main power switch (S1).
  • Page 19: Fillling The Hoppers

    6. FILLLING THE HOPPERS When starting the sowing, it is recommended that the machine is transferred to the field empty. Fertilizers and seed are brought to the field, for example, with a trailer, and the filling of the seed drill is done on the edge of a field. If the machine must be filled far away from the field to be sown, the transfer drive with full container loads should be done with caution.

Each unit has bottom flap and closing plate.

8.2.2 Closing plates Between each feeding unit and hopper bottom there is a closing plate (picture 13). Plates are usually kept completely open. Single feeding units can be disabled by pushing the closing plate completely inside the feeding chamber. Closing feeding units can be an option if for example every second coulter is wanted to use for seeding.

  • Page 26: Coulter Pressure's Effect To The Seeding Depth

9.1 Coulter pressure’s effect to the seeding depth Coulter pressure affects if the set seeding depth is achieved or not. When the machine has been lowered almost to its lowest position, the tension springs creating the coulter pressure start to tighten.
