Check that the USB HDD device is:
connected properly.
Check that it is connected to the blue USB3 port labelled as "HDD REC".

To register the USB HDD device to the TV, press the HOME button, then select [Settings] —
[Watching TV] — [Recording device setup] — [HDD registration].
